Tim Nelson

Chief Executive Officer

Appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Seer Medical in July 2023, Tim Nelson oversees operations in Australia, the USA and UK. Joining Seer Medical in 2019, Tim has gained a unique perspective of the business in the roles of Chief Services Officer (CSO), Acting COO, and Business Development and Government Relations Lead. In his most recent role as CSO, Tim was responsible for the delivery of Seer Medical’s Clinical Service across all markets, leading the establishment of the company’s commercial presence and UK Clinical Service from London in 2022.

Throughout his career, Tim has worked across a diverse range of industries, including six years in Applied Research at the Bionics Institute, where he focused on the design and development of implantables for the detection and abatement of seizures in patients with epilepsy. Tim later relocated to Vanuatu, taking on the position of Senior Project Manager with Save the Children Australia, where he managed a range of complex development programs. Within four years, Tim was appointed as Director of Operations at Save the Children Australia. Following his return to Australia, Tim also worked at the University of Adelaide, facilitating research collaborations with industry at the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing.

With his formal education and hands-on experience in biomedical engineering, innovation management, finance, and organisational leadership, Tim brings a rare combination of technical insight and business acumen to Seer Medical.
