Governor of Victoria names Seer ‘Startup of the Year’
The Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria has named Seer ‘Startup of the Year’ in the inaugural Governor of Victoria Startup Awards were hosted at Government House on 23 February 2022.
Initiated by the Victorian Government and reviewed by an independent panel of experts, the awards celebrate the outstanding contribution of Victorian companies to the fast-growing sector.
“We are honoured to receive this award from the Victorian Government and are incredibly proud of what it reflects. Behind this achievement lies the hard work, perseverance and commitment to excellence of the whole team at Seer,” said CEO & Co-Founder, Dean Freestone.
“Seer has changed the way people with epilepsy are diagnosed around Australia, all from our home base in Melbourne. Our success is deeply connected to Victoria, as Seer was founded on the scientific and neurological expertise developed through collaborations between actors in Victoria’s diverse biomedical research ecosystem. We are also fortunate to have received important support from the Victorian Government, as well as mentorship and camaraderie from the Victorian startup community.”

This is our most critical measure of success – translating to over 10,000 Australian families we have helped to access world-class long-term monitoring since launch. Empowering people to take greater control of their health and find the answers they need remains our highest priority.”
